He was born into a farming family and grew up farming. Farming was all he really knew. Until his 13th birthday was when his dad gave him his pocket watch and he was amazed with the was the gears moved and worked. He would spend hours taking apart the watch and then reassembling it. The whole town was very fascinated with Ford and soon he became known as someone who could fix any watch. At 16 Fords began to tired of farming and wanted more for himself. So he said his goodbyes and left his family and their farm. He looked for work and soon found it in 1879. He learned how to operate the steam engines and soon became curious about bookkeeping. Henry Ford married in 1888 to Clara Ala Bryant. He had to put aside his fascination with steam engines and new ways of transportation. In Order to provide for his family. So with a heavy heart he returned to famering. After 3 years of providing his family with farming. He was hired by the Edison illuminating company and he worked very hard. until one day his true talents were shown in 1893 and was promoted to chief engineer. Henry Ford worked for the Edison illuminating company, he began to make plans to make a horseless carriage, which in those day was almost like a dream. But to Ford it could be a reality. That same year Ford attend a meeting with edison executives and he approached Thomas Edison and showed him his plans for the automobile. Edison really help Ford a lot and showed great interest into his work. Ford made his first model of the horseless carriage and was close to abandoning the idea altogether. Edison encouraged him greatly and soon he made a better model than the first. In 1903 a few of Fords second model were built and were tested. Then in 1908 he introduced the model T in october and it created a buzz around the world. In 1908 the Model T was made 15,000,000 times, the same way, same color nothing was different and the last car was made in 1927.
In 1913, Henry Ford, the inventor of the Model T, Installed the first moving assembly line for a large production of an entire automobile. This invention of the assembly line reduced the time it took to build a car from more than 12 hours to 2 hours and 30 minutes. This invention was inspired by the continuous-flow production methods used by many around the world. Ford installed moving lines for bits and pieces of the manufacturing process. In December 1913 he unveiled the piece de resistance, which means the moving-chassis assembly line. In February 1914, Ford released a mechanized belt that would go as fast as six feet per minute. This invention was a great addition to our society and changed our world. Henry Ford turned this world upside down dreaming of the impossible.
