Nickola Tesla (1856-1943)
Nikola Tesla is an amazing scientist and an even better inventor. Born July 10, 1856 in Smiljan Croatia but died January 7, 1943 in Manhattan New York City. Most people don't know anything about Tesla. He wasn't very popular during his time and he didn't like to socialize. Nikola Tesla had 7 major inventions. The Three-Phase Electric Power, Induction Motor, Wireless Telegraphy, Alternating Current, Neon Lamp, Remote Control, and the Tesla Coil Three-phase electric power is a common method of alternating-current electric power generation, transmission, and distribution. Induction motor is an alternating-current motor in which torque is produced by the reaction between a varying magnetic field generated in the stator and the current induced in the coils of the rotor. Wireless telegraphy is the transmission of electric telegraphy signals without wires (wirelessly). An electric current that reverses its direction many times a second at regular intervals. A neon lamp is a miniature gas discharge lamp control of a machine or apparatus from a distance. Coil that can produce high-frequency alternating currents.
Without Nikola Tesla we wouldn't have power lines. If we didn't have power lines that would put straight back to candle light. Imagine all the people so reliant on electricity but never knowing who actually gave them this gift. Tesla was five steps in front of society. Thinking of things most people couldn't dream about. This remarkable man was shunned for his inventions being bought out of his ideas by corporations that were trying to stay on top. These big companies were afraid that if Tesla's ideas got out to the public they would start to lose money because his idea did not have oil.
