The Renaissance Era
The Renaissance Era lasted from about 1450 to 1700. Also called the Age of Enlightenment, this overarching era encompasses the Renaissance, the Age of Exploration, and the Colonial Era. Some of the most recognizable inventions from this era are the printing press, the telescope, and the caravel, which is a type of ship. Many of the inventions used for travel and navigation were developed during this era.
